Lance De Peralta
Lance has been in the healthcare industry for over 20 years working primarily with payers. His areas of knowledge include account & project management, business & data analysis, business process improvement, and client consulting.
Lance previously worked at MedeAnalytics, a healthcare software company. He was recruited to help grow its Payer product base into a multi-million-dollar business. Before leaving to start medASTUTE, Lance helped launch the company's consulting practice to deliver additional value to clients.
Prior to MedeAnalytics, Lance began his healthcare career at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) where he specialized in analytics & reporting for employers including, at one point, managing the unit responsible for these functions. Lance also served in leadership and subject matter expertise roles on key initiatives which produced a web-based employer reporting production system, a sales workflow application, an analytics tool for brokers & employers, and an employer reporting package to better engage clients.
Lance received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University with a dual concentration in Philosophy and Political Science.

Vanessa Griggley-Owens, MBA, RHIA, CHC
Vanessa has an extensive background in health information management, revenue cycle, risk adjustment, and compliance. She has successfully led large cross-functional initiatives in patient-centric organizations providing fiscal, strategic, and operations leadership. Her experience encompasses all aspects of healthcare management, including provider and payer.
Vanessa previously worked at MedeAnalytics as a Senior Director at MedeAnalytics' consulting practice. Prior to MedeAnalytics, Vanessa worked at Health Care Services Corporation (HCSC) as the Director of Risk Adjustment leading the team responsible for analytics, auditing, and surveillance of healthcare providers. Previously, she worked at Deloitte & Touche and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Vanessa earned her MBA from the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University with a concentration in Business Management for Health Care. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
She holds the RHIA credential through the American Health Information Management Association and the CHC credential through the Health Care Compliance Association.
Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer
Daniel has over 30 years of experience in the information technology field, including 18 years delivering analytical systems for US-based health insurance companies.
In Daniel's role as Associate Vice President in MedeAnalytics' consulting services team, he led multiple virtual teams involving product standardization, consulting and solution delivery to identify opportunities to improve care and efficiency. He also supported the MedeAnalytics' payer business team and provided leadership and technical oversight for all payer clients.
Before joining MedeAnalytics in 2010, Daniel was the Data Warehouse Manager for Analytics and Reporting at Health Net Inc. He also previously worked as a Senior Engineer in the Executive Information Systems for Wellpoint.
Daniel received training in Information Systems from the United States Air Force and was the top graduate in his NCO Leadership class. Throughout both his military and civilian career he has continued both formal and situational training.
Vice President of Strategy & Operations
Pamela C. Hess, DBA, MA, RHIA, CDIP, CCS, CPC
Dr. Pamela Hess has extensive healthcare experience in revenue cycle operations, revenue integrity, HIM operations, compliance, quality control, clinical documentation programs, and provider education.
Dr. Hess is an Assistant Professor, Program Director, and Lead Faculty at Grand Canyon University (GCU) in Phoenix, Arizona for the Masters of Healthcare Informatics and Bachelors of Health Information Management programs. Dr. Hess graduated from the Doctor of Business Administration program at GCU in 2021.
Before joining GCU, Dr. Hess was a Vice President, Strategy & Operations with medASTUTE. She continues to work with medASTUTE.
Previously, Dr. Hess delivered and led consulting services at Deloitte & Touché, LLC, Navigant Consulting, Inc., Himagine Solutions, Inc, and Accretive Health (R1 RCM). She published "Clinical Documentation Improvement: Principles and Practice" for AHIMA Press. Her next CDI book, "Clinical Documentation Improvement for Outpatient Care: Design and Implementation", published in July 2018 by AHIMA Press.
